LocationThe first thing that you need to do when it comes to preparing for a vacation is figuring out where you are going. This is essential because everything stems off of this - the clothes you will pack, the things that you will do, your budget, your timeline, and more. This is usually a pretty easy aspect of the planning portion for most. In fact, most people tend to visit the same places over and over because they know what to expect: it’s comfortable. I urge you to try to get out of your comfort zones and find new locations to visit. Not only will you love visiting new places, but it is an educational opportunity for your sweet babies. Teach them about this world by visiting new, interesting places! Must See or Do’sOnce you pick the location that you are traveling to, you can choose a few must-see or do spots/things. When you do this, make sure you are considering every single person in your party. Are the things you are picking kid-friendly? Do you need to consider naps? Are there any activity restrictions? SavingThe next step, after figuring out where you are going, how much accommodations, flights, and activities will be (approximately), is to save for your trip. Of course, there are some upfront costs that you need to consider like booking flights, but most of your activities, food, etc., can be saved for. If you need help saving, get creative with it. Sell your clothes, babysit for a family member, ask your neighbors if they need help with their yard work, or other tasks around the house. Declutter your home and figure out what you can sell, in addition to your clothes, kitchen appliances, old baby furniture/clothes, and old jewelry (even if it is broken!). For example, Chapes-JPL, located in Buckhead says, “we buy jewelry in Atlanta!” When you visit Chapes-JPL in Atlanta, you have two options: you can sell them your valuables, or you can get a low-interest collateral loan in exchange for your valuables (such as jewelry, gold, watches, handbags, etc.). All you have to do is fill out their simple form describing the item(s) you wish to sell. Then, they will review your submission and their team of expert jewelers will contact you with an initial quote. This process typically takes about one business day. Once your item has been evaluated, they will contact you with their official offer and arrange for immediate payment. If you do not like their offer, go ahead and click deny - there is no risk or obligation at all, but if you are looking into getting rid of some of your valuables to save for your upcoming trip, getting a free offer from them does not hurt! ItineraryWhen everything is set in stone, plan out your itinerary and make sure that you include travel time + time for error because that is inevitable. I also love to leave time for just relaxing and exploring on our own there because once you get to your destination, you never know if there is something that you want to add in...or skip! PackThis is an obvious thing that must be done before you leave for a trip; however, people often leave this for the last minute and end up rushing around and forgetting important things. It is especially critical to leave enough time for packing when you are running a business. Try packing at least 1-2 days in advance to ensure that you will catch anything you might have forgotten to initially pack, and don’t forget to pack the things important for running your business, such as laptops and chargers, planners, employee contact information, and a camera! Leave out anything you will need up until the day you leave your home, and make a note to pack them before you head out. Create a packing list based on where you are going and the things that you will be doing so that you do not accidentally forget anything! Run Last Minute ErrandsIf there is anything you need for your trip, or something you need to have done before you leave, make sure to give yourself enough time to get those little errands done before the big day.
Running to the post office to mail out a package or getting travel supplied from Target are not things you want to worry about an hour before you have to leave! Get them done early to make sure you are not stressed and are ready to go
