Attempting to Find Balance
If you are finding yourself stuck at the computer for hours at a time, your kids crying for your attention, and still needing to make dinner for your family, there may be a way to assist you to find balance in all of it.
One way to do this is by setting a timer on your phone to help break up the day.
Every hour, give yourself a ten to fifteen-minute break. Keep the timer close to you and each time it goes off, move around, do something different to give your eyes a break from the screen, or read a book with your child.
This goes the same for your children who are also trying to navigate their new normal doing their school work from home. Give them a chance to get up, stretch, and move around with you too.
Find a Seperate, Productive Workspace
Look at each day as a school and a workday and dedicate a spot for you to have a place to get your work or your children’s work done properly.
It can be super easy to want to work from bed, have your child work in their room but doing so restricts your movement, productivity and promotes bad posture day after day.
You can start by at the kitchen table in the morning and then find a desk before spending the day in the backyard outside.
Change your environment if that helps you stay on task and also try to get some fresh air and sunshine to improve your mood.
The same goes for your children. If you have more than one working together, set up folders to give them each their workspace and stay on task minute after minute.

Hey Ya'll! My name is Amy, I am a girl mom (times two), married to one of my favorite guys, a daughter, a Jesus follower and so much more. I love preworkout and a great sweat, I collect books like trophies, I love to cook but hate a dirty kitchen. I love grungy country music, bell bottom pants, turquoise (the mineral) and converses. Our house is full of love and laughter as we navigate this busy life together, focusing on keeping the important parts of life the biggest parts, and building a healthy and safe place in our family of four!
