The only Preworkout Drink I Ever Want To Use | Health & Fitness

Literally.

Over the years, I have used a handful of different preworkouts, looking for the perfect one. Check out my post on the top five preworkout brands I tried. One time, way early in my health and fitness pursuit, I thought that a protein shake would be a great choice, if you didn’t know, it wasn’t. Don’t try it, just take my advice!

I have tried one that I stopped using, and after trying a couple of others, I couldn’t not go back it. It’s that good.

You know me, I can’t give you one little piece of information without giving you some back history and the ‘why’ with it. I am a researcher and a planner, I am not a ride or die type girl!

Why do you need a preworkout?

Most people think a preworkout is to boost your energy, and it is, but there’s a deeper reason for the increase in energy! It’s really about endurance. The energy a preworkout gives you, helps your body have the endurance to take on a tough workout session and fight fatigue! Perfect for upping your weights and a great cardio session.

This streak of energy and endurance can be helpful when you feel like you have hit a plateau in your sessions. This leads to my next reason to use a preworkout, gains. Most preworkouts contain an ingredient callled, BCCA. BCCAs are the key component to building muscle, by improving the rate at which your muscle heal from your workout, resulting in gains. Which is what most of us want, I mean muscle burns fat, so why would we not want that?

The caffeine found in preworkouts, can help you power through the workout, boosting your strength, power and even speed. Caffeine is what you call a neurotransmitter, it tells your brain to fight fatigue. Usually when I am training for a race, which I am now, I usually drink a cup of coffee (with sugar free creamer) because it seems to really help, if I don’t have my favorite preworkout.

how do i know the preworkout is doing its job?

First off, it’s important that I mention if your not fueling your body correctly through out the day, the preworkout is not going to make the huge difference it would if your making good choices at least eighty percent of the time.

The He first thing I notice when a preworkout is beginning to work for me, is my energy levels. My husband can tell, too! I start talking even faster than normal, which is fast, I have been told I talk way too fast to be from Georgia! I start talking fast and my need to clean and organize everything is at an all time high, even after I workout. Sometimes, I drink a preworkout serving before cleaning my house.

Some me people say they get a “tingling” sensation. Thankfully, I have never experienced that, because I probably would be afraid to use it! I would be paranoid I’m having an allergic reaction! If you experience that, your probably not having an allergic reaction, it’s usually your body adjusting to the product. It’s up to you if you like that sensation. I don’t.

You can usually see results of a great preworkout after your workout. If you notice the body of muscles you worked have a great pump to them, it’s safe to say, you and the preworkout, worked well together! The reason for the pump, is that the nurtreints in the supplement, carry oxygen to your muscles helping your muscles work, building muscles and creating acid in your muscle. The acids in the ,uncles is what causes the swelling, and essentially the muscle gains. Sorry, that pump will fade as the acids breaks down, but the muscle you built will last if you feed it and nurture it!

are there side effects of Preworkout?

Yes, but, that’s really with anything.

The main side side effect I worry about is insomnia. For that reason, I honestly don’t drink it after two in the afternoon. That may differ from person to person.

Some orher people have experienced itching and nausea. I personally haven’t met them, but anything is possible.

Also, be sure that your drinking enough water, supplements with creative and caffeine can act as a diuretic, meaning they will make you make several trips to the restroom to urinate. So, add more water to your diet! Like we don’t drink enough, already!

My favorite preworkout

My favorite preworkout, contains three important ingredients in addition to all natural ingredients like beet sugar, citric acid and stevia; beta-alanine, caffeine, quercetin. These three ingredients are proven to help us power through our workouts with more energy and focus, and fight fatigue.

It doesn’t give me the jitters, no tingling effects, and it definitely makes me do all the talking, and the pump, y’all, I see the pump like never before! Hello, biceps! I have been using this supplement for well over a month, for every workout, and some house cleaning days, and my muscles have never been so defined, even though I have so much more work to do, you can tell such a huge difference. And my house is really clean, well a lot cleaner, I do have two small children!

*Just because this preworkout doesn’t make me tingle, doesn’t mean you won’t. Like I stated before, everyone is different, so you need to decide if your okay with that temporary tingle. A friend of mine compares it to a good buzz! I don’t know, but seriously, this stuff is worth the try!

My favorite preworkout is Energize by Beachbody! At fifteen calories per scoop it comes in lemon and fruit punched flavors, my favorite is fruit punch. I’ve seen some people even mix them!
