I will preface this blog post by telling you, that I am going to keep this one short and sweet. I am not going to dive into why I journal, when I started or what I write about. That's honestly, posts on their own!
I am going to use this post to tell you about my favorite supplies to use for journaling. Mind you, I journal in many places; my BIbles, actual journals and also, my planner. I know. My husband describes me as a "nerd", and if needing and enjoying writing stuff down is me being a nerd, I am okay with that!! So, let's get going on this list! I will break them up the best I can, to organize everything. pens
I am so, so picky about pens. Its honestly, bad. Not to mention, I like different pens for different things. The pens I use in my Bible and journals are different than pens I use at work, or even to make a grocery list.
These two are my favorite. I love the gel ink, both brands are vibrant and strong ink. However, I love the Papermate brand for journaling in my BIble, because they are less likely to bleed when I go back over with my favorite highlighter. They both write so smoothly. Also, I like the color options, sometimes I alternate colors when I am putting notes in my Bible, sometimes in my journal, I use one color as the title of a section I am writing on, and another coordinating color for the writing.
Highlighters
It took me a long time to find highlighters I liked. They needed to not be harsh, but vibrant. I also do not like highlighters that have thick ink, they take too long to dry and bleed through too badly. I took the leap and treated myself to a brand I kept seeing BIble journalers use, and I will never go back!
I love all three of these brands, the Arteza pack was gifted to be my cousin-in-law from Nashville, and I love them. I have used them to make some really pretty pages in my Bible!
STICKIES
Okay, so maybe I am a nerd. I love sticky notes, and so does my oldest daughter. :) I have a small, but growing collection of sticky notes. I use them in all the places; my journals, my planner of course, in my business and blog notes, naturally, but... I use them in my Bible a good bit. Sometimes to simply add color. Sometimes I use them to have an extra area to have notes on a passage. One of my BIbles even has a set of tabs made by sticky notes, and oddly enough, I love it. They are so versatile. I will use almost any color, and now you can find them in unique shapes or themes, for example, I have a hedgehog set and a llama set.
THE JOURNALS
Here's the truth. My favorite places to buy cheap journals are places like Ollie's. But they are not always cute. And most recently while I was in there, the small selection they had of journals looked like it had something demonic written on them. I don't know about you, but whether I am writing out a grocery list or my prayer journal, I definitely do not want something that looks like it is a message from the devil. I write a lot, in case you have not noticed, but I want cute journals to write in, it just makes me feel even better. I don't know, it is hard to explain. Shop really cute journals and gifts HERE!
What are your favorite journaling supplies?
Let's be friends!
