Why 100 miles? Why even do this?
I have gotten asked 'why', more often than I can think.
I mean, if you know me, you know that I a have never been a runner, per say. I run to the mexican restaurant, I run late (hello, two small kids), and I run my mouth (working on that). But, deep down inside, I have always wanted to be a runner. I want to be one of those people that post pictures on their Instagram finishing a 5k, you know the ones! I think this is more of a way to prove myself, to myself. To tell myself that I am disciplined and that I am capable of doing what I put my mind to. And.... the extra calories burned is a great bonus. The Rules:
I know there will be weeks where I get behind, but my goal is to make up for it on the weeks I can.
I want this to be an experience. Life is all about experiences. When I am no longer able to do this type of stuff, I want to say, I once was a runner. I had a dream to become a runner, and I did it. I was once in the best shape of my mommy-life, because I didn't give up. I got up early, I missed out on dinners with my family, I sweated through the horrible heat of the Georgia afternoons, I got blisters from wearing the wrong socks, I did something I have always wanted to do! Sooo... you wanna join me? :) why runners
