A few months ago, a new author couple popped up on my radar from one of my all time favorite authors, Jennifer Smith from Unveiled Wife.
Smith shared a small book review on her instagram, of a book with a gorgeous couple on the front. I honestly didn’t think much of it, but since I am always into finding new authors and new reads, I followed the female out of the couple, Audrey Roloff. Weeks went by, and Roloff had been sharing reviews and clips of her and her husband’s New York Times Best Seller. I ordered the book on accident off amazon one night, while ordering my husband some truck parts. You know how you put stuff in your cart, to move to the save for later area? I didn’t realize I had not done that. i didn’t cancel it, because I felt like I was going to order it anyways, might as well go ahead and get it. The Roloff’s book was an easy and relatable read, which took me three or four days to complete, but it could easily be read in a day or two, if you had the time. It was hard to put down once you picked it up, and their style of writing is very nice, very easy to follow and stay with. That’s important for me, I have two small kids!! About Audrey & Jeremy
Jeremy (from Little People, Big World) and Audrey (college track star) met one summer during college on a blind date. The two maintained a slow and steady friendship, where everyone saw the sparks between them, for over two years before Jeremy made things official with Audrey.
They then endured years of long distance dating while both were finishing up their college degrees. A break up somewhere in the middle, leading to an inevitable reunion seemed to light the couple’s relationship on fire. The Roloff’s, even at the beginning of their friendship and relationship seem like they are wiser beyond their years. Their relationship with God, together, is astounding, and a true role model for couples of any age. A run Down on “A Love Letter Life”
Before reading this book, I had only heard this bits of “Little People, Big World”, had no clue what it was a bout, or even really who these people were. I thoroughly enjoyed finding out a little more about their family and farm!
The book starts us out from the very beginning of Audrey and Jeremy’s relationship and takes us all the way to their wedding day. The pair take turns back and forth sharing their story from each other’s point of view. The part of the book which really stood out to me was the “Discipline of Sharing”. This is something I feel super strong about, as I have it written down for blog posts, before I even read their book. They explain from a relationship standpoint, and a Biblical standpoint why ‘sharing’ in your marriage is important. Not sharing in the sense of sharkg objects, but sharing experiences and things you love to do. This book is a great read for anyone, I feel. Whether your single, married for one year or married for twenty years, or just dating. It has something for everyone and we can all learn from them and their relationship with each other and God. I also adore their love, their passion for making small things important and using things like the typewriter Jeremy wrote to Audrey on in college, a part of their home decor, because it was an important part of their dating relationship!
