Miles 0-25.95
I am a quarter of the way there!
For someone who has never been good at running, to be able to say they have ran almost twenty six miles in less than a month, is an amazing feeling. How motivating!! Those twenty five, almost twenty six miles, have not been easy. If I knew more about running, that might would make things easier, maybe. I have made a point to read so many running posts on Pinterest! Some of it is a little confusing, and then some of it is so helpful. My miles have accumulated on the treadmill and the bike at the gym. IMPROVEMENTS
Not only have my times gotten better, I have seen a difference in my mindset, my anxiety, and my body. Your probably thinking, don't you already workout five to six days a week? Doesn't that help with all of those things?
It does! And I am so grateful. I tend to be in my own mind, way too much. My mind and I- we are always making lists, growing and cultivating ideas for my team, for my coworkers, for my family and house. And, well, I am a planner, on top of being a list maker. Usually, on a for real note, I am planning what I am going to eat after that workout to refuel my body. Another reason I like to meal prep. It takes the guess work out of things, and it is one less thing I have to think about. If I workout at home, I am planning what chore I am going to do after I workout. You get the point. Running has added to my "clear mind time". I guess because it is so new for me, and I am honestly not good at it, yet, it requires a lot of mind work. I am telling myself "keep running, until the end of this song your listening to!", or "Just make it through this run and you are going to feel so much better!". My mind is busy focusing on my workout, my run; it is too busy to focus on all the other stuff in my head. Also, these runs sometimes turn into my extra "Jesus-time". I need all the Jesus time I can get! Music
This is another one of my favorite parts of running.
Putting in my bluetooth ear buds and blaring whatever is motivating me that morning and doing a great job to keep me at an attainable pace, is mood altering. Otherwise, I don't listen to music while I am working out, I am usually listening to my personal trainer through my ear buds. My trainers are taped and I can play them whenever, where ever I want or need to. Love it. I certainly do not get to listen to the music I like when my kids are in the car with me. We are usually listening to the Frozen or Moana soundtrack, or they are watching a movie. Sweet spoilt babies. PS- I'll be glad when they learn to like wearing the headphones that go to my car. This time to turn on my phone and blare "my jam" as Blakeleigh calls it, is a blessing. Here are some of the songs I have been listening to over the last few weeks.
Judge me- I don't care! Coming up:
until next week, ya'll! PS- Comment below, and tell me what are some of your favorite songs to listen to while working out! Always wanting to update my playlists! Running Essentials:

About AmyHey Ya'll! My name is Amy, I am a girl mom (times two), married to one of my favorite guys, a daughter, a Jesus follower and so much more. I love preworkout and a great sweat, I collect books like trophies, I love to cook but hate a dirty kitchen. I love grungy country music, bell bottom pants, turquoise (the mineral) and converses. Our house is full of love and laughter as we navigate this busy life together, focusing on keeping the important parts of life the biggest parts, and building a healthy and safe place in our family of four! |
